Part 1 of a trilogy

Lulled by the sensuous sounds of a thunderstorm, the young woman falls under it’s spell, conjuring up sensations so intense that she becomes lost in her own thoughts and oblivious to anything or anyone. But this is not just a response to the extraordinary power of nature, it is a prediction of what is to be.

Background:

Our friend wanted us to be with her on what was to be her final holiday in Tuscany. When we arrived she had already been there for a few days, but it was obvious she was far too ill to be able to stay longer. We spent a single night with her before accompanying her, and her companion, to Piza airport the following afternoon so that she could be taken home, having insisted that we stay in Tuscany and live the holiday for her.

That night we had a phone call telling us our friend had died during a massive thunderstorm as the plane flew over the Alps. Her dream had come true.

Festivals: Spellbound has been shown at the Wreck Beach Film Festival Ontario, been in the Edinburgh Festival’s short film market and broadcast on Propeller TV.
